Back to School

Hello readers,

Just a quick lunch-time blog to share some thoughts. Today was supposed to be “back-to-school” day for all the kids. But, for many, school has been delayed till next week sometime (depends on the school, grade). But, back to school during a pandemic, and the rising Covid-19 case numbers recently, has me worried about everyone’s health, my family’s included. Today should feel a bit different for many being the supposed first day of school. For me, I have great hope that my son will get back to school next week and enjoy the socialization with his classmates and get the much-needed in-class education. However, I’m also using today to remind everyone to stay diligent with your physical distancing, hand-washing, and mask wearing. I’m also encouraging everyone to reconsider their get-together plans with friends and family, including birthday parties, weddings, bar mitzvahs, etc. I know these things are really important aspects of our normal lives, but while we live through the pandemic, we have to make some hard choices. Easy for an introvert like myself to say, but stay home! Read a book, watch t.v., play video games, order delivery. Go back to visiting people outdoors only, and in a mask if standing close.

And, as it pertains to your essential services, like physical medicine, please do the following:

  • Monitor your symptoms daily. If unwell, please let me know as soon as possible so I can cancel your appointment. I will not be charging patients for sickness related cancellations. In fact, a patient of mine just emailed me to let me know he’s a bit under the weather today. He does not think it is Covid-19, but is under the weather no less. I cancelled his appointment, instructed him to monitor his symptoms, and if not better to get a Covid-19 test.
  • When you come to the office for your chiropractic appointment, please wear a properly fitted mask (fits snug around the nose and chin w/ minimal gaps). If you don’t have one, bring a face covering and I’ll provide you with a level-1 surgical mask.
  • If unsure if you should attend your visit, email me!
  • If you don’t want to attend your visit, and you prefer to have a virtual visit to discuss your rehab, email me!
